Behaviour Change Through Physical Activity (Registration of interest)

This new program is delivered by Will Tierney a Behaviour Practitioner with years of experience supporting people with autism. The program is designed to help parents to develop and implement an autism friendly physical activity plan. Physical activity has unique benefits for people with autism – it helps to regulate sensory and behaviours of concern, and when the activity is performed with others it provides the fantastic opportunity for positive social engagement.

Using physical activity has also been shown to enhance other intervention outcomes, as well as a range of physical and psychological benefits, such as reduced stress for both the child and the parent.

This program supports parents who want to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Focusing your child’s hyper-activity

  • Increase your child’s physical activity and movement

  • Increase functional behaviour

Parents and carers will be supported over a number of group and individual sessions to learn new and creative ways to implement physical activity into your child’s daily routines.

For more information, and to register your interest in participating in this new program, commencing mid-March 2021 please fill out your details on this form, and we will be in contact with you soon:
