Autism SA Recognition Awards 2018


The Autism SA Recognition Awards is a community event which recognises outstanding contributions and achievement of the many individuals on the autism spectrum and those organisations, individuals, families and cares that support them.

These awards will be presented at The ARC Campbelltown, 531 Lower North East Road, Campbelltown 5074 from 5pm. 

All attendees at the award ceremony will also be invited to attend an Autism Friendly Swimming Session in The ARC Campbelltown at the end of the awards. Details on how to register to attend will be send to each nominator and nominee closer to the event. 

Here is the list of categories that an individual or organisation can be nominated for:


The Hilary Johnson Award

Criteria:

  • Excellence by an individual working in the field of autism spectrum (external to Autism SA)

  • Demonstrated professional excellence in their field

  • Outstanding contribution and commitment to their work and community


Partnership Award

Criteria:

  • An organisation (business, school, university etc) that has worked in partnership with Autism SA to deliver better outcomes for people on the autism spectrum


Appreciation Award

Criteria:

  • An individual or organisation that has made a significant contribution - either in the form of in-kind commitment or financial support - improving the lives of people on the autism spectrum


Special Inspiration Award

Criteria:

  • A parent or carer of a person who is on the autism spectrum who has made a significant contribution to the family, autism community or wider community

  • An inspirational role model for other parents or carers

  • A person who has made a contribution to increasing awareness or understanding of autism 


Individual Achievement Award

Criteria:

  • Aged 12 years old and under

  • Aged 13 years old and over

  • Young adult

  • Personal achievement by people on the autism spectrum – in any undertaking (community service, art, sport etc)

  • A person who is an inspiration to other people with autism


Excellence in Education Support Award

Criteria:

  • Any educational establishment in South Australia, from any sector, that has demonstrated a significant commitment to supporting people on the autism spectrum

  • Demonstrated excellence through innovative approaches and cooperation

Nominations for the 2018 Autism SA Recognition Awards will close on Monday 31 October 2018.

The judges of the Autism SA Recognition Awards reserve the right to withhold awards in any category at their discretion.

The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
